Gold Village Niederaudorf
Niederaudorf is a district of Oberaudorf and lies in the Upper Bavarian Inn Valley in a structurally rich Alpine landscape. As a grown place, the village has well preserved its rural character with church, village fountain, bakery and grocery store as well as well-kept old farmhouses in the middle of the village center. The cultural connection to Reisach Abbey is still noticeable not only because of the fruit tree avenue between the village and the monastery. Steep mountain slopes, mountain streams, orchards, smallholder structures with extensive grassland management and GMO-free farms ensure that this Bavarian picture-book landscape is preserved.
So it was certainly no coincidence that Niederaudorf was awarded gold in the national competition “Our village has a future – our village should become more beautiful” in 2010.
