Niederaudorf - The golden village
Niederaudorf, a faction of the village of Oberaudorf, is situated in the valley of the River “Inn” in Upper Bavaria amid a varied Alpine landscape. Being an old settlement, the village has preserved its rural character with its church, its fountain, its baker’s shop and its grocery store as well as its well-kept old farmhouses in the village centre. The ancient cultural ties with the “Reisach” monastery are still perceptible, not only because of the fruit tree lined lane which connects the village to the monastery. The agriculture prevalently composed of small farms, the extensive grassland farming and the absence of genetically modified crops have helped to safeguard our Bavarian fairytale landscape characterized by steep mountain slopes, mountain creeks and tree-dotted prairies.
So it is indeed not surprising that Niederaudorf was awarded in 2010 the gold medal in the nationwide competition “Lively village - Floral village”.
